A SELF-PROFESSED ANIMAL LOVER, Elizabeth Ginn, has founded the Last Chance Cat Ranch; and when she says that she has cashed in her RRSPs to keep her organization running, there’s no doubt of her seriousness and passion for her animals.

The Last Chance Cat Ranch has the purr-fect pet for you!

Born in Saint John, N.B., Elizabeth, along with her three children, worked her way west in 1977. From Toronto to Alberta, she has offered her services protecting and rescuing strays. In larger centres like Calgary and Edmonton, Elizabeth was successful in adopting out most animals, but for some unknown reason Lethbridge has a different track record.

Presently Elizabeth has about 50 animals and has become a registered society with the provincial government; thus allowing her to have this many cats and requiring an annual report to be filled out yearly on the status of the Ranch. Elizabeth relies on pet food donations, cash donations and volunteers to keep things going. In addition, all of the vet clinics in Lethbridge have been generous in their support of her endeavour. Felines in her care are spayed or neutered, have current shots, and for the ones that are too ill she pays for euthanasia.
